Love. It is found in many places. For one person it is found in the backseat of a car at 9:43 p.m. when a pretty girl places her head on his shoulder. In that moment he loves the way her hair falls over his shoulder and the way she breathes slowly and the way her eyes look when they're closed.
He realizes that love knows no age and yes, even teenagers can love. That when these kids, his friends, say they love these other kids, their girlfriends, that they mean it. He knows what it is to feel this and what it means to smile and laugh to yourself at 1 o'clock in the morning because you think about the way she touched your shoulder as you helped her up.
All of these thoughts gush out of his heart and find their way to his brain and his eyes start to water. He smiles because he loves her and all the shit he's been handed over the years is ok, because he loves her. She'll go home and think about a guy that isn't him and that's ok too, because she was here, now, with her head on his shoulder. And now he can watch the way her hair falls and remember it each time his eyes start to water.
